Liberace and Liza review Underbelly Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026
Liberace and Liza
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Life is a Cabaret, and you will struggle to find a better cabaret at the fringe this year.
Liberace enters the stage in true fashion wearing a blue rhinestone encrusted cape and has some funny chat with the front row. Then Liza enters in the Cabaret years outfit, although time may have made it harder to get on the stage!
All the big career songs are there, some with funny inserts which all land. Lee’s knowing glances at Liza are so comical the audience warm to them immediately.
Liza really can belt out a hit, with iconic songs such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Maybe This Time along with modern hits from the popular hit parade like Britney Spear’s Toxic and Pink Pony Club all with added pizzazz.
Lee gets some time in the spotlight alone when he plays Carmen twinned with Boogie Woogie.
Their chemistry on stage is electric, you really do feel they are “Old Friends” As they say,"Who’s like us … damn few and the're all dead!"
This is funny but it’s not taking the micky, it’s a lovingly performed tribute, to two of entertainments treasures.
