Edinburgh Fringe 2026 is here, and I’m back doing what I love most — seeing as many shows as I can and sharing the ones that stay with me. I’m delighted to be accredited media this year, but as always, every review is honest, personal, and rooted in the simple joy of sitting in a room and being surprised by a story.
This page will update throughout August with new reviews, hidden gems, and the occasional late‑night thought scribbled on the train home. Whether you’re planning your Fringe or just curious what’s out there, I hope you find something here that sparks your interest.

I have added below an example of my star ratings. I feel by adding stars with no explanation it demeans the production, and the intention of the review. I'm not here to put people off with a 3 star review, I hope I encourage them to give it a go!

A few words on my ethos of reviewing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
I review theatre with honesty, warmth, and respect for the artists who bring their work to the stage. A star rating from me is always a sign of enthusiasm — 3★ and above means I’m recommending the show to audiences.
If a production doesn’t reach that level, I’ll still publish a full review, but I won’t attach a star rating. A no‑star review is not a death sentence for a show; it simply means the experience is better understood through the words rather than a symbol. Every piece of theatre deserves to be met with fairness, context, and care, and my aim is always to support the Fringe community while giving audiences an honest sense of what to expect.
Greenside Launch Party 5th August 2006
I was delighted to be invited to Greenside’s launch party and sneaky peak at some of their 200+ shows presented over two venues, George Street and Riddles Court.
The acts performing were a smorgasbord of talent, from Sketches, Comedy, Musicals, Drag and theatre.
Each act only got a few minutes to perform, so it would be rude to pick favourites, however I was glad to see at least one of my booked shows on the line up.
I’m glad to see Greenside getting it’s feet firmly under the table of Fringe venues, I have always tried to see some of their program over the years, from its original venue at the foot of Calton Hill.
There was a secret shared for 2027, a third venue is on the cards.... Watch this space!
